Letter 3: Life Is a Beautiful Thing. The good Lord gave it to us.
Dear Omobolanle,
I am writing this to you in haste. I do not want to put it off until later because I will most likely forget.
Life is a beautiful thing. Life is a good thing. The Lord makes it possible. The good Lord gave it to us.
I know I have not written to you in a long while. Can you imagine? It is almost a year. Yes! I have been living. And you know how it is to live in this broken world—you struggle. So I have been struggling too. And I am still mostly a hermit.
Your questions on Being and Fatalism are good and important. It shakes my mind from side to side. Frankly, I do not have answers at this moment. I also do not seem to have a good response now. But rest assured that I will try to seek answers about what our Lord says on it, and send what I find.
But for now, do not forget that life is a beautiful thing. Life is a good thing. The Lord makes it possible. The good Lord gave it to us.
Say me well to Aderonke. Tell her I love her too. I am glad she loved the last story I wrote for her. Tell her I will write a pamphlet or even a book for her soon, God willing. Or maybe very, very soon, I will be able to visit and tell her stories from my own mouth.
Recite these words with her when you wake every morning: The Lord makes life possible. The good Lord gave it to me.
It is well with you.
Yours in highs and lows,
Uncle Akin
